System of Integration: Simplify Cadency User Provisioning Using Trintech’s API for Identity and Access Management Systems

Blog post

A recent report by Gartner reported that one of the major elements involved in data breaches is compromised identity credentials.[1]  And as more applications move to the Cloud, it’s important to remember the possible threat this represents to organizations’ cloud security and their sensitive data. For large enterprise customers, managing user roles, permissions and access can be extremely challenging as the portfolio of applications continues to grow within their organizations. Trintech is committed not only to offering a comprehensive Record to Report platform, but also making integrations easier with a comprehensive suite of APIs.

Trintech has recently released a Representational State Transfer (REST) based Identity Access Management (IAM) API to allow customers to seamlessly manage Cadency users with their IAM tool of choice. Customers can now integrate their existing/preferred IAM systems using IAM APIs and take advantage of any existing user provisioning workflows and tools already implemented within the organization. IAM API supports the ability to search user permissions, create users, provision roles, find open tasks for a user, and deactivate users. The API also validates roles and ensures any open items assigned to the user are complete before roles can be changed and/or modified.

Currently, Cadency users with administration privileges login to Cadency and access the administration module to manage users and their roles. With the new IAM API, Cadency user provisioning and de-provisioning can be done from a centralized IAM system making the user onboarding and disabling process much more efficient.
